Local Amenities and Facilities

Shore Island View is located on the shores of the Shannon Estuary, Ireland's longest river, only 40 minutes drive from Shannon International Airport.

Ennis, Ireland's Information Age town and the bustling capital of County Clare is just a 20 minute drive away, as is the Killimer car ferry linking counties Clare and Kerry.

Anglers can avail of Clare's many lakes such as Gortglass Lake and Ballyleann Lake nearby to fish for pike, trout and other species. See Angling Ireland for more details.

For horse riding you can avail of Burke's Riding School in nearby Clarecastle.

Clare has several quality golf courses for the golfing enthusiast at Dromoland and Ennis (2), while Lahinch and Doonbeg are among the best golf links in the world.

Local festivals include carnival in Kildysart at the end of July, and an agricultural show in mid-August.

If you wish to explore the world famous Ring of Kerry, the rugged Dingle Peninsula, or the lakes, mountains and forests of Killarney National Park, Killimer car ferry is a leisurely 20 minute drive west on the coast road.
